A workation often aims to strengthen the connection in the team. It is a unique work adventure which brings employees together. All from different locations. From different teams. And do not work together on a daily basis. And I thought: this is it. This is what we mean by a culture of connection.
We celebrated 20 years of WebNL creative studios. No speeches or cake in the office, but a journey full of depth, fun and stories. From the impressive Caminito del Rey to an AI talk by Hendrik van Zwol that got you momentarily quiet. From getting lost in the city to deep conversations on a rooftop overlooking Málaga 🇪🇸.
But it was that one moment on the terrace that touched me the most. Because everything came together there: who we are as an organization, what we want to be as a team and why we continue to invest in culture. Not for form’s sake. But because it makes people better. And so does the work. This weekend was not a break from work. This was work. As it is meant to be.

Awaretrain Security Awareness went on workstation for the first time. From a beautiful villa in Spain, the entire company worked remotely for several days.
Together with CCO Marja Beks we chose the right accommodation and booked the plane tickets and rental cars, on to a new adventure with all colleagues. “From a beautiful villa with pool, we worked hard as well as relaxed. It was the perfect place to brainstorm new ideas, celebrate successes and connect with each other even more.” Said CEO Dennie Spreeuwenberg.

If you liked it, marketing agency Whello gave you the chance to join us for a week on workstation in Spain. In order not to make the groups too large, the 35 employees went divided into 2 groups of about 10 – 14 people each.
Whello started the workation with the weekly kick off meeting, but now at the pool. Away from the grind and daily office setting. They took time to get to know each other better while doing their work in a chill setting. The villa had 5 different terraces and inside also several tables to work at, allowing you to find a quiet place to work.
Fantastic content was created from the workation, showing what good employment should look like anno nowadays. It has fallen very well to connect with each other in this way and are planning to do this together once a year.

In September, they took almost the entire team to Valencia. Every year they work together for a week in the sun with the goal of team building. In addition to day-to-day work, they also use this moment for brainstorming with the entire team. Fun group activities were done on weekends and evenings, from a sailing trip to partying at Valencia’s coolest club.
In doing so, they show that they offer a lot of freedom as an employer and consider work as important as having fun with each other. One of their new talents even had her first week of work during the workation!
