Meet the adventurer with organizational skills

Hey, I’m Alieke. The founder of Working Remotely. I previously worked as a salaried event and campaign manager for 13 years. Every vacation day was spent exploring the world. Thus, I made several solo trips. From South Africa to Malaga and from New York to Vietnam. My love of travel, cultures, nature, exploring the world and talent for organizing come together at Working Remotely. That’s how my business came to be.

In 2021, I left for Spain again, but this time it felt different. I found that I could inspire others to go on workation as well. I shared my experiences in Lonely Planet and the AD. I also created a workation guide for Cosmopolitan. Before I knew it, I was organizing group workouts to Valencia and working for companies. By now I have a large network with villa owners, tour guides, sports instructors and locals. I also share my knowledge and advise individuals, employees, managers and employers. In the newspaper, on a stage, on TV or in the form of a blog.

My first workation

Over 4 years ago, I went on my first workation. Working with two colleagues for a week in Croatia. Punctually at 5 p.m. we clapped the laptop shut and headed out. Within 5 minutes we had forgotten that we had worked. I felt full of energy and was completely turned around! Many more workations followed to the Veluwe, Stockholm, Valencia, Mallorca and Seville, among others. I knew: everyone needs to experience this!
