These range from companies that are completely remote-first to organizations that give their employees the freedom to work from a different location a few weeks a year.
Remote working is an important condition of employment
For over 3 years we have been dealing with the topic of remote working on a daily basis. With Working Remotely we advise on remote working to individual travelers and companies. We write blogs about remote working, create content for digital nomad destinations and organize company trips and workations. We know the market like no other and know that finding a remote job is still a challenge, when so many people would like some freedom in where they work. That’s why in this article we highlight 20 employers. And good news, because they all have open positions and are looking for new staff. So grab your chance and check out these 20 top jobs.
Remote work agreements between employee and employer
These Dutch companies give you the freedom to occasionally or sometimes even completely work from abroad. Often there are conditions attached to this and there is a policy for it. It is important that there are good agreements between employees and employers, so that you are both aware of the possibilities and responsibilities, think of:
- Availability & working hours: clear agreements on core hours, accessibility and time zones.
- Location policy: where to work (inside vs. outside EU, specific countries excluded)?
- Security & IT: use of VPN, secure devices, backups and access rights.
- Costs & fees.: Who pays what (home office allowance, internet, coworking, travel expenses)?
- Communication & collaboration: set consultation times, tools and response expectations.
- Productivity & output: result-oriented appointments rather than attendance.
- Health & wellness: focus on ergonomics, work-life balance and mental health.
- Insurance & liability: coverage when working from home or abroad.
