April 2019 I went on my first workation. This time not alone, but with 2 colleagues. The destination: Croatia. I have been here before in Istria and find it a beautiful country. I never like going to the same destination, so this time it became area Zadar. A port city with about 90,000 inhabitants. It is supposed to be around 17 degrees at this time of year. With a nice sun, that’s fine! <\/p>\n

Favorite place in Kraotia<\/h2>\n

We went for 8 days and had a full schedule. Zadar for 3 days, then 3 days to one of the many islands and 2 days to go to Plitvice waterfalls<\/a>. Those waterfalls are really awesome, sooo beautiful! If you are in the area you really should go there. It is a very impressive piece of nature. My favorite place, however, is Dugi Otok<\/a>. A small island where we encountered very few tourists (out of season). We rented a scooter and went for a leisurely tour. You can easily explore the whole island in 1 day, and also take time in between to enjoy the views. <\/p>\n

Where I stayed during my workation<\/h2>\n

In Zadar we had a nice apartment with a spacious table to work at, only there was little daylight. But I also like to find a flex-workplace and nearby was a nice harbor club where we could work in peace, both inside and outside in the sunshine. With a beautiful view of the water. What more could a person want. <\/p>\n

In Dugi Otok, we had an Airbnb in a tiny village called Zman. It does have 1 restaurant and 1 small supermarket, and a lot of fishermen. Our apartment was idyllically beautiful, by the water. From the roof terrace you could enjoy the view and the peace and quiet. Totally nice. <\/p>\n

The bucket list in Croatia<\/h2>\n

Croatia consists of more than 1,000 islands. So if you go here you should really go island hopping as far as I’m concerned! Nature is beautiful and in some places you can still find hidden gems. But besides that, the Plitvice waterfalls and its national park are also a must see. Also cities like Split and Dubrovnik seem to be very nice, I would love to go there again. <\/p>\n

\nA workation is great. I really like the combination of work and vacation. Because of the nice environment, I am a lot less stressed and enjoy myself to the fullest. I am far from finished and hope to visit again soon this beautiful and versatile country: Croatia. <\/p>\n
